After lurking a bit, then posting to test the waters, it looks like the least I can do is give you guys a bit of background.
I'm still not comfortable giving away personal info online (you won't find me on "social networking" sites), but I can probably say this w/o compromising PERSEC too much (:p):

My name is Pete, I live in the western end of the San Fernando Valley, and have been in the private security biz for almost 20 years now ().
I started at the bottom to support myself while pursuing other life goals, but little by little, the day job has turned into a career. We all know how that goes...

I've been working EP per se since about '02, mostly posted at estates or in high-end jewelry stores (not calling that LP due to all the duties involved), but I've also done the usual one-on-one stuff (escorts, photoshoots, driving) and worked parties, events, and other red carpet gigs.

I have kept a low profile online because of the amount of testosterone, back-slapping and chest-thumping already prevalent in our line of work (multiplied by the anonymity afforded by the net) and also because I'm a privacy freak.

This forum looks like it has a lot of potential, however (no attitudes/egos yet), and since it's local for me, I thought I'd give it a shot for networking, intel and entertainment's sake.

Finally, I'd like to thank the creators of this site for the forum and I hope this turns into a very active and fruitful one for everyone involved. :)

Welcome Local -

Just standard operating procedure...can you PM me your social security number and great-great grandmothers maiden name? I just have this sneaking suspicion that you are in fact Steven Seagal and I want some closure on this incredible find.

You produce great posts and content, please keep it up. Very glad to have you contributing Sir.

PM with details of super-secret-squirrel training, black ops in 'Nam, and names of protectees incoming... ;)
Oh, and thanks and right back at ya, Mata-Lećo!

Caught up in my novel, I realize I forgot to mention where I found out about this site. Well, all I remember is that I saved the address in my favorites a few months back, probably from a link from another site or a Google search for "Los Angeles Bodyguard" (I do a lot of those and am always on the lookout for new resources).

I have otherwise been aware of David Lamanno for a while. I think his book and training course were advertised on (my BSIS instructor) Jim Bowen's site at one point.

Welcome to the site... as for ego's and attitudes, there is no place for that on these boards, period. We moderate the boards closely, and in the near future we will be looking for moderators who can help us in this process, once membership is higher.

We do our best to keep the onslaught of daily spam to a minimum as well... in 1 hour a few weeks ago a spammer made 37 new topics - all promoting DVDs...

The best way the site can get better, is through more members, and existing members how participate.

Welcome again.

Thanks for the welcome, gents!
This site doesn't exhibit any of the negatives that keep me away from others. :)

I agree, there are certain sites out there who have long timer regulars who think they know everything about everything... while the spend hours a day coaching and directing from behind a computer screen. We created this site as a general knowledge base first and foremost, with networking a close second. This site is not to see who's ego can run unchecked on here, we wont tolerate it, regardless of who you are - sponsors included.

Those of us who run this site are all EP professionals, that are looking to build a community of good people.
The site is growing, albiet new, we are looking at ways to promote it, and we do that with members that contribute and use the site!

Be sure to spread the word too, thanks guys.

While I was 98% certain that "Logorrhoea" was a sexually transmitted disease derived from 'Logs' - running rampant throughout exclusive Lumberjack communities in the pacific northwest, wikipedia proved me wrong.

What I did find funny was the wikipedias usage of this phrase, "diarrhea of the mouth". Of course from excessive talkativeness.

This board learns so much from you Local Mensa.

HAHAHA @ Socal and LT

I don't mean to burst your net bubble LT, but, I did my homework on you and found out that you have done a bit of work for Comedian/Actor Steve Harvey. Subsequently, I found this little gem of a photo of you with him. I must say, you have very striking features...

HAHA, well, at least you have amazing taste in boots.

Lion Killer eh? You caught me...I actually run protection exclusively for Onyx and Gazelle's. I have been aspiring to work my way up the food chain to protect humans.

Well, Congrats LT, you have just won the "Longest-Thread-For-A-New-Member-Introduction-Post-With-The-Most-Hits-Too!" award.

Long day guys, sleep well!!
