I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Henley-Putnam University or know anything about it. It looks like a good Distance Learning University. I know there are some Distance Learning Universities out there that the diploma is equivalent to bathroom tissue. Does anyone know if this University is legit and can get you ahead in the World> Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Waits on LT's response

Did anyone call me? :D

Hey, I'm far from a good source when it comes to schools, but from my own quick visit to Wikipedia and also G.I. Jobs magazine, it appears totally legit and military-friendly.

There is a definite stigma against online universities, but most employers usually look at the whole picture. A buddy of mine got a masters in criminal justice from Phoenix, and I didn't take that very seriously until he got accepted for a govt job, so you never know.

The best thing would be for someone with first-hand experience to chime in, of course.

I can give you some first hand knowledge on HPU, as a current student. The school is legit, 100%. I am halfway complete with my BA in Personal Protection. All instructors are extremely knowledgeable in the field, being retired FBI, USSS, DEA, DHS etc...
They are very military friendly, and work around your schedule as best they can. They accept the GI Bill, and will actually guide you through the benefits process. The course curriculum is great, and deals with exactly what you will face as a professional in the field.
I highly recommend HPU. You will have great instructors, and it serves as an excellent source for networking with career professionals.
