Gov. Schwarzenegger signed an "anti-paparazzi" law: http://cbs2.com/local/Arnold.Schwarzenegger.signs.2.1243433.html.
About time, if you ask me. I hope it works.
Unfortunately, he obviously has more celebrities than shooters among his friends since he also signed THAT: http://www.ammoland.com/2009/10/12/california-governor-signs-ab962-restricting-ammunition/.
AND he brags about being behind microstamping...

I guess what he doesnt realize is that if they want it bad enough they will get it.. Meaning one avenue is to go to another state that does not have this type of control over ammo i.e. Arizona..

Yep, this is what people are talking about.
But since I personally don't have friends or family out of CA, what am I to do, drive to NV or AZ every time I need ammo? Hope that CA retailers will have cases of premium hollow points on their shelves one day, and then be willing to be entered in a database as a purchaser of large quantities of dangerous substances? (Don't laugh, gun boards are full of stories about ATF calls or visits after large gun or ammo purchases.)
What really aggravates me is that some CA shooters (forget the ignorant and mostly anti-gun public) think that the law is no big deal, and actually reasonable as a crime-fighting tool. After all, some prohibited people have supposedly been arrested after buying ammo (in localities where such a legislation was already in effect).
But really, how long before all crooks know that ammo purchases will get them busted? So they'll just steal boolits like they do gats, or have straw men do the buying. No big deal for them.
Face it, people: gun control laws are not meant to reduce crime, they're a scheme to disarm the population to turn them into sheep and marginalize/criminalize those who resist it.
The proposed law contained a provision to limit ammunition private party sales to 50 rounds per month. Under a president who caused the biggest guns & ammo rush ever, they knew that it wouldn't fly and struck that for now. But it will come back. Gun control is done in increments, all of which seem innocuous or easy enough to circumvent. That doesn't mean it's all good.
This law opens a lot of doors to a grim future. "Mr. LT, we found at a murder scene ammunition casings of a type and caliber that you bought a couple of years ago. We'll need to see your firearms and ammunition storage. BTW, where were you on the night of..."
One last question for those who think this law makes sense: crooks steal cars and/or drive without a license, so should we restrict gasoline sales to make sure they can't drive? How about we track who buys gas, where, and how much? How about requiring ID to be shown at the pump to prevent illegal aliens to crowd our freeways, Mr. Governor?
John, in case you didn't know, you have it good in FL!

Oh Florida isnt as great as every one think however, CCW is a piece off cake, and it is hard to find ammo here... But... I realize that the laws are alot more lienant than they are in Cali.. I mean No hi cap mags.. WHATS UP WITH THAT????
As far as gun control goes... If the government controls the guns then the only people that will have guns are the criminals and the government.. Violate my 2nd Amendment Constitutional rights.. HMMMMM
They will take my guns from me when they pry them from my cold dead hands...

Yeah, back when president Bush declined to give the assault weapons ban a second life, I was happy for the rest of the country, but it didn't change CA laws that still outlaw most black rifles and mags over 10 rounds, and still impose a "cooling off" period.
Like you said in your first post, where there's a will, there's a way. So people have used back doors and a black market for full-cap mags developed. But prices have also shot up like crazy and even LEOs have trouble buying theirs (most need a letter from their agency ).
So, as usual, a stupid gun law hurt law abiding citizens and only helped a few smart individuals profit.
I couldn't agree more with your view on the 2nd.

Your avatar was a clue, but that's good to know. :D
If you work in CA, you may find yourself in the company of hybrid-driving, gun-hating, left-leaning security folks, believe it or not.
On a past detail we were at about 50/50 and one guy even told me that Bush had "ordered 9/11", if you can believe it. I asked him to PLEASE keep those kinda views to himself.
It's a little different, here... :o

Yeah I know I applied for work in Cali a long time ago was going to go to work for LAPD, but I started making to much money to go to work for them and to deal with the politics of a large department like that
I also looked into seal and huntington beach PD as well made an informed decision NOT to go into LE

Can't blame ya. A lot of us have looked into LE. I personally met too many cops who told me that they should have been firemen instead...
Not that there's no politics or backstabbing in the private sector, mind you. :(

Yeah, I wasn't taking security seriously until I started flirting with the 6 figures. Then it was like, $50K for a cop, are you kidding?!
EMS cert = HUGE bonus points for EP jobs, BTW.

Well, that's too bad, but it still should be on your resume. So if you keep current with your 1st aid/CPR/AED certs, you're still ahead of a lot of agents, brother.
