Firearms and Tactics Instructor (Midwest)

Department: Training & Operations
Location: Mt. Carroll, IL



Primary Purpose:
Provide quality high risk firearms and tactics instruction to U.S. Training Center customers.

Essential Functions:
•Responsible for teaching pistol, carbine, and shotgun courses.
•Responsible for assisting in teaching High Risk warrant / Hostage Rescue courses.
•Responsible for teaching Officer Survival courses.
•Responsible for teaching customized training courses.
•Responsible for conducting mobile training.
•Responsible for safety of students.
•Responsible for updating course curriculum.
•Ensures accountability of all training equipment.
•Performs other duties as assigned or required.


Required Education/Experience:
Eight years of practical experience in Law Enforcement and/or Military Special Operations is required. Completion of U.S. Army or U.S. Marine Corps Sniper School is preferred. Must be experienced in instructional techniques and proficient in MS Office.

Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization (including management, peers, team members and customer-base). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion. Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.



Working Conditions:
Work is based in a busy training environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 to 4:30, however some extended or weekend hours are required. Position also requires work in an office and/or classroom setting.

Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.



Physical Requirements:
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing, squatting, and kneeling, including standing for long periods of time. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to pass physical fitness test.
