I'm thinking a "Training" catagory for companies to post upcoming courses, and also reviews and critiques of courses members have gone through.
Also, this may be a good place to post informational training articles
Possibly also a "Gear" section as well.
Just some thoughts...

I'm with Secfor..
There so many "experts" out there teaching thier own ways of conducting the mission that it would be great to have a thread where a person could do a quick search to get a no shit, honest review from the guys working in the industry.

While we have considered a section on training, the site is free to all members, and in time this site will grow and expand to host unlimited amount of members...
with that said, this site does have operating expenses, which are offset by the sponsors/vendors of the site. So we are still considering if we should only allow supporting vendors to post training ads or upcoming dates, or if we should make it free to all... then we are back to operating expenses.
The site is only a few months old and we are still working out the details, stay tuned for more updates.
Thanks for the contribution guys.

I completly understand where you are comming from Socal. I was thinking more along the lines of a thread started by guys who have first hand knowledge of a training site or cert course and who would be willing to share thier experience. You can't really trust a Vendors review of thier own place or training. IMHO. ** no disrespect to the vendors**
I guess my point is that i would hate to waste hard earned money on a training course or certification course that is worthless in the industry when many of the members on this site could have given alternate suggestions to make it more worthwhile.

Bedouin, I think you are on to something... a NON vendor training area where guys can relate their own experiences...

From my research over some months, I think these are the top notch training establishments:
Executive Protection Invernational http://www.personalprotection.com/providing_protection.cfm
R. L. Oatman & Associations, Inc
http://www.rloatman.com/
Locally, the Top Grun Training Center:
http://www.topguntrainingcentre.com/
And don't forget you need a Guard Card at a minimum:
Try: http://guardtrainingcenter.com/catalog.html
and
http://www.security-guard-training.net/
The above is because I'm a total novice with no background just a keen interest in maybe one day venturing into the brotherhood.
Stay safe all.

+1 For TFTT, many of our graduates have attended the firearm programs. We are a sponsor on this site, check out our website -

Our Instructor cadre is comprised of a diverse group instructors, and our 6 day academy is unlike any other. Any former graduate of ours feel free to comment on this too!
We have a 6 day academy coming up in Nov. - mention this forum and receive $150 discount.
Here is our academy overview -
Hotel check in is Monday the 9th of Nov. 2009 in Southern California, after 2pm, and airports shuttle is included free (LAX). Each day class begins at 0900, transportation provided throughout the academy. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is provided daily. To keep this class personal, we limit the enrollment to a total of 12, no exceptions. This ensures a close environment between the group.
Also included is a Florida and Utah CCW course. Our academy is hosted on a US Military base, we also plan and perform public ep operations on Friday and Saturday nights.
Our Curriculum includes the follow areas of training:
Domestic and International Protection drills and training, it is important to learn both aspects of protection; we bring a wide variety of instructors to our cadre - from overseas high risk operators, domestic and celebrity specialists, SEAL CQB instructors, and more... it is our variety of instructors that make the experience and the training at BTI what it is.
Look, at the end of the day, if you do not succeed, neither do we.
Give us a call and we'll talk about it in more detail
