To our membership: we are at 201 right now and counting. This forum is growing and that's great news!
And I suspect that most of you would probably prefer lurking and just getting job intel and such, but PLEASE, take part in the dialogue! Because I know of only one or two other EP forums and, unlike this one, they are neither friendly nor open...
Since you took the time to register, I know I'd gladly welcome whatever comments, opinions, and information you have to contribute. You don't have to kiss anybody's ring, send copies of medals, or even be from SoCal... :)
If you're an outsider or newcomer, you probably have questions. And if you're a working pro, I'm sure you have industry concerns and stories to share.
After 20 years in private security, I'm used to keeping my mouth mostly shut, so although (obviously) opinionated and talkative, I respond to conversations better than I initiate them.
Note that I'm just speaking for myself, but I'm sure that the staff would also welcome all you have to say.
In advance, thanks! :)

LT, you have been the most active member so far on the boards, with Lone Wolf and mateo coming in close behind...
These boards have a lot of potential, spread the word when youre working in the field, the more members we have the better the site will get and Im sure it will expand into new forum sections and such.

These boards have a lot of potential [...]
Yes sir, I think so too. It's potentially a great resource, especially for us in SoCal.
What I was getting at is that I lurk and have lurked on many forums. Either I don't feel qualified to comment or the atmosphere is unpleasant. But it's still undeniably selfish to take the info and not contribute.
Some forums are so active already that they don't seem to need anyone (they're wrong: private clubs become stale), but this one is very young and I feel everyone should give it a hand. I'm able to speak to myself for a looong time (:D), but I see some members apparently come and go (in posts) and it's our loss.

I have had a schedule change with my client that has put me in the position to have less time for many things. I feel bad that I have left you guys hanging. Please pardon my absence - I am fully aware that this board revolves around my Mensa-like contributions and rapier wit...:D
I certainly hope you guys are doing well and I hope all the best for the boards growth. Soon things will find a rhythm and I will gladly get to spend some more time sharing ideas back and forth with your guys and learning along the way.
Hey LT!

Yo, Mata-Lećo! Glad that things slowed down enough for you to stop by, sir. Very:
After a long time-out I finally ran out of savings myself and had to take another uniformed gig. Ugh. At that pay rate, I'm gonna have to put in a ton of hours too, so expect me to take on a lower profile online. More reason to hope that our quietest members will post more.

At least, we always have that to fall back on and, due to the economy, robbery suppression is big business here.
Second time in uniform this year and it's getting old, though. I got a couple of balls in the air and once the parts fall into place, I should move on to the next level. I don't wanna jinx it so I'll leave it at that. :)

Good Plan LT... Best not jinx the future by talking about it... Hope every one is doing well I to as previously stated been forced back into a UNI... It is very short term.. BELIEVE ME... VERY VERY SHORT TERM... I think it has something to do with the wife spending our sizable cash fund on a house.. Yeah we got a good deal on it and she wouldnt have been able to do it if I didnt give the nod.. So... Im cash poor again so out of semi retirement back into the mean cruel world.. Now.. How does one go about getting Robbery Suppression Details there in Cali? Im all about that...

Same as any other job: there's been a lot of ads, but you can be referred to a company, of course. Requirements are military, law enforcement background and/or serious tactical training - those aren't "observe & report" gigs. You're there to engage if necessary.
That doesn't mean that it's all that "elite", as I've seen a few yahoos do it, but in theory it's for experienced pros.
One company told me that it was "LE only", but it also depends on the client, and frankly, most retired or off-duty cops won't be willing to work retail (long hours standing & high risk).
And if I had something else lined up, I'd honestly do that instead...
The best uniformed jobs are fed govt contracts, for pay and benefits. They can pay better than EP.

Maybe the new name has yet to initiate - but it still says 'Member'. If by "Member" you mean...yeah, then, shame on you.
But after long consideration, I like it.

And by "rapier wit" you meant...??? Oh, I see, never mind. Or maybe that's what the "member" is for... :D:D:D

I thought if YOU got "Call me LT" - I would at least get something cool like:
"Call me Big D!ck Daddy from Cincinnati".
Unless, you live in the bible belt.

That sounds like a good idea! :) Unlike some, this is an unpretentious and open site. Rules are few and I enjoy being here; I'm wondering why most members don't have time to check in once in a while.
