This is very cool. Jax Desmond Worldwide is openly challenging the Los Zetas! You know what, I hope they do get in there and tear these guys apart. This is a prime example of private industry answering the call because there is no one else stepping up.

Now what would be interesting is if ol’ Mexico fired up the Letter of Marque and issued them to companies like JDW. Mexico has a history of issuing them for pirates (just like the US and our privateers), perhaps this is a tool they could use again to deal with today’s cartels?

And really, the government’s backs are against the wall on this. The state is being threatened, and the police and military need all the help they can get in order to go after this infestation of criminals. The US and and Central/ South America are being impacted by this infestation as well, and having companies hunt and destroy drug cartels would be something everyone could benefit from.

I also think that Mexico would have the moral authority to issue Letters of Marque, just as long as they are correctly written up. The key with the Letter of Marque is the expiration date. Or having the ability to revoke the Letter of Marque at any time, based on contract violations. The Awards Courts will help too, because if a company wanted to keep a boat or mansion that they captured, they will have to do it properly under the rules of the contract, or they will not get that item.

With a modern twist, you could completely copy the Awards Courts and most formalities used in the past in order to make this work. It will not work, if the companies think the rewards are not worth the risks. But if there are sufficient rewards attached with going after these cartels, and the award courts and legal protections for the companies are designed to invigorate competition and interest, you will see a mad dash of companies wanting to get in on the action of destroying the cartels. Especially if Mexico opened up the market for such a thing to companies outside of their borders.

Or Mexico can watch their country fall apart at the seams while groups like the Los Zetas laugh all the way to the bank.

Mon Oct 12, 2009 6:48pm EDT

NEW YORK, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ — The company that offered witness protection in the Anna Nicole Smith cases is now stretching out a hand and offering help

to the Mexican government. The U.S. government says Los Zetas is “the most technologically advanced, sophisticated and dangerous cartel operating in Mexico” and Jax Desmond, Chairman and CEO of Jax Desmond Worldwide says that’s just “not acceptable.”

“It’s evident that Mexico is over their head and if the authorities want our help, I’m happy to send out our top teams of police and military experts,” says Desmond. With a large number of its operatives being former Israeli and US Special Forces, Jax Desmond Worldwide believes that the strong arm of Mexico’s drug cartel will be no match for their elite team of private military contractors.

Jax Desmond Worldwide, a private military and protective security firm with offices in New York and London made headline news earlier this year when they stepped up to offer at cost protection to any witnesses that came forward in the Anna Nicole Smith cases.

“That was then, this is now”. . . says Sascha Forst, spokesperson with Jax Desmond Worldwide. “Mexico can’t deal with this struggle alone and if we don’t step up to help them, who will?”

The company believes they have the resources to assist the country with their very real and worrisome problem. The question now is, will Mexico accept their offer?

The Jax Desmond Worldwide Corporation today announced that Mark “Hollywood” Hatten is now under their protective custody. Hatten is a former boyfriend of Anna Nicole Smith who recently spoke with national media concerning allegations he claimed transpired between Anna Nicole and him while they were dating. “Hollywood” claims Smith begged him to help her in a “Murder For Hire” plot to kill her stepson E. Pierce Marshal.

Jax Desmond Worldwide, a private military and protective security firm with offices in New York and London, earlier this year offered protection at cost, to witnesses having any information in the deaths of Anna Nicole Smith or her son Daniel. Witnesses have been encouraged to come forward with any information that would help law enforcement officials. “Anyone who may otherwise be afraid to speak out are assured they will be kept safe. We protect celebrity clientele throughout the United States and other countries. Witnesses who may have important information to share need to be able to do so with out fearing for their safety,” stated Sasha Forst, company spokesperson. “Our job in this case is to see that Mr. Hatten has a chance to share his story with the media that want to speak to him without there being any threats made against Mark “Hollywood” Hatten or his loved ones,” Continued Forst.

Jax Desmond, Chairman and CEO of Jax Desmond Worldwide, commented, “Rumors have been flying that Mark Hatten and/or his friend, freelance publicist, Deb Smith, have documents that support claims made by “Hollywood.” I am not at liberty to confirm that such documents exist but what I can say is that any papers pertaining to Mark “Hollywood” Hatten are now is a secure location within our company.”

News media that wish to contact Mark “Hollywood” Hatten are asked to contact Jax Desmond Worldwide. The company will handle any and all publicity for Mr. Hatten until otherwise announced. Mr. Jax Desmond will be in charge of this case personally. .

Jax Desmond Worldwide is a diversified private military company that provides protective security solutions to government and civilian clients across the globe. The Company offers a broad range of innovative services to customers in more than 12 countries, helping them to safeguard their biggest assets - their people.

Publicity Stunt. Helping out the Mexican official forces with training and consultation has been going on for years. There are private firms that have large training compounds in Mexico for this specific reason, and US Spec Ops and police entities have fulltime rotations down here training all elements of the Mexican forces and intel units.

JAX is just trying to get publicity to boost business. Not a bad move, but they know full well that this is already in full swing. The Mexican forces KNOW how to take care of the problems down here, but getting everybody on board to actually put the plan into action is another thing.

Anyone that spent time training foreign forces in Iraq, Africa and certain other locations know what I am taking about. Getting the know-how, and doing it, are two vastly different things.

Good way for JAX to pull some more business though.

Good point... I mean it is a great way to get publicity.. Althought I know that Los Zetas is a very powerful gang from what I have been told read and seen on the TV about them is that they are trained Mercs.. HMMMMMM Wonder where they got their training???? Point being they are spreading into the US with the other gangs that are already in existance ie MS 13 Sur 13 and other type Hispanic type gangs... So now what... It isnt enough that we have to deal with Terrorists now in other countries we have them right here in our own back yard... So how do we fix this issue?

Well, the US gave them most of their training when they were still active duty Military in Mexico. One thing we are noticing in the Northern Mexico region is that groups are getting tighter across the board. Where we used to see the whole side of a vehicle shot up on a targeted hit, now we are seeing groups that will fit on standard sheet of paper. A bit concerning to say the least.

A lot of freelancers come down here and seek out training gigs and are not really concerned with who the customer is. Also there are some former US Military that are a part of certain Narco factions. The skills were bound to make their way into the narco training curriculum sooner or later. Here's a recap of the notable events in Tijuana in October:

• 2 chopped up bodies found in vehicle next to main police station in TJ
• Man hanging from lamppost in Tijuana
• Tortured and killed bodies of three found partially buried in Tijuana
• Two federal agents disappear in Tijuana,
• Vehicle crashes gated of apartment complex and commandos kidnap four in TJ
• Rosarito police shot and injured
• Attempted assassination of Tijuana Police end with dead and wounded
• Former Mayor’s bodyguard arrested on weapons charges then escapes unseen
• Decapitated bodies found in Tijuana
• 2 bodies hung from bridges in Tijuana
• 2-3 kidnappings per day in Tijuana
• Multiple armed attacks on Tijuana municipal police
• 7 Stolen police pick-up trucks

This month is not much better. Those seven stolen trucks were found and painted as military vehicles. They were to be used to take out the TJ security director.

With RPGs and .50 cals more common just around the TJ area, we can be sure that these weapons and more are making their way into the US with personnel from other countries, not just Mexico.

The San Diego area is having a slight problem with cross border kidnappings but American victims are not favored (for ransom) because kidnappers don't generally want the FBI adding their resources to the recovery effort.

The solution is not an easy one due to the system in general. SO much corruption lends itself to large scale mayhem. Good for the security, and legitimate training biz though.

Thats my point... Again the US trains people like this and then is helpless to stop them from using these attained skills against innocent people... I know that the skills that I obtained in the military are not necessarily useable on the outs... Other than for illegal type activity... I was trained in LE but due to physical conditions (color vision) I was never able to be able to use my skills that I obtained.. HMMMMM Well I have been in the private sector for over 20+ years now and still have not used all of my skills the knowledge yes the skills no... Long story short, there are always ways to use the skills you learn.. Some make more money than others.... I chose to do it the right way...

Jax Desmond has been seen as a less than stellar organization with excellent marketing but not enough to back up its "bottom line" regarding personnel qualifications of its workforce. There has been a lot of blustering on their side but that was all that it was! Talk.
It is highly impossible to take out Los Zetas within a 4 month period.
Los Zetas are highly organized, heavily militarized (weapons) and they control government officials with hard currency.
The shit has hit the fan and Jaz Desmond has been called out!

Jax Desmond has been seen as a less than stellar organization

I got some additional info on them this week which confirms there are nothing more than little children with big ideas. I'm sure they have pulled a contract here and there and I am sure they have been able to hire a decent operator or two, but slick marketing will only get you so far in this biz.

They recently had a call-out for 127 CIVPOL types for Mexico operations.
Please!

As previously stated, Los Zetas is a gang that is very well trained, armed and organized. They work both sides of the border and to be able to shut them down in 4 months I doubt that very seriously either...

In my career of BG, Security and PI work I have heard of them but never really seen anything significant about their company other than their requirements are out of this world..

Me.. Im an older guy thinking about slowing down.. The HIGHSPEED STUFF.. Ill leave to you younger guys.. Not to say that if a good contract came my way I would walk away from it but I would really have to take a long hard look at it... Bottom line is that we all get old.. eventually.. My mind says Im still in my 20's my body says other wise... Keep the faith and be safe out there...

I have been talking with Jax Desmond for awhile now. He had some EP gigs in NY for a transit company or something. I met him from a friend from the UK who worked in Iraq with me. I applied for work with him and spoke a few times about jobs and other things. Zetas...hmmmmnn I don't know. I am sure that a PMC with the right stuff could seriously damper the cartels, without all out RPG and 50cal warfare, but there is that what-if factor that contractors deal with. Just seems like any pmc in Iraq-Afghan deal with this danger and nobody blinks at the judgement of the company. If Jax just treated the dangers in Mexico like we treat the dangers in other hotbed's he will do well. at least there wasn't any IED or VBied's on that list of tijuana killings ya know

Abso-friggin-lutely.....YET

Look for 2010 to be the year they do their hits on public officials and line their escape with IEDs.

Its been found in their training protocols. It will happen soon enough. Something weird going on down here right now. Hardly any patrols out on the streets at the present. Very strange for TJ. Somethin is up. We'll get the scoop here soon enough.

Im actually surprised that it hasnt already started... The general public doesnt have a clue... And what a surprise that is going to be when (not if) it happens... On the up side of that our business will definitly pick up.. Not that I want anyone to die but maybe our industry all the way around could use some serious improvement.. From the lamest of lame security guards through EP and Highspeed stuff...
People in the US are to laid back and again I dont believe that anyone even suspects that something like that could ever happen on our own soil...

All Im going to say about that is:

A. Remember the frist bombing of the Twin Towers
B. Remember OK City
C. Remember 9/11

Bottom line is that there are already a ton of subsersive type people in this country...

I was mainly speaking of Mexico when I mentioned the IED threat. But as we know, violence bleeds over. I have two main clients currently. One a transport company, and another a doctor that owns a real estate company. Both had local guards until things started heating up. They realized themselves that just looking like a bodyguard was not enough, after seeing their family and friends with local bodyguards taken, they sought out EP that actually could provide an avoidance plan, solid contigencies and skills to back up both.
In the private sector we may not have to deal directly with an IED threat down south, this will be mainly reserved for Mil and LE, but we spend a good amount of time making sure we steer clear of both to not get caught in the middle.
By the way, when the streets cleared of patrols in TJ yesterday this was due to a couple of issues:

1) The assassination of a metro police officer
2) The kidnapping of a state investigator in front of his home

Generally they come out in force after something like this, I guess they hunkered down this time.

Has anyone of you guys been to Tijuana?
I used to go every other weekend in mid 80's and even though it has developed since then, that development has turned into a nightmare because public officials now demand more 'mordida' (bribes) and when they get too greedy, they can be replaced by a less greedy public official.

The bad part is that the intimidation factor is real enough that even the corridas (Mexican traditional songs) are now used to sing praises of the intimidators because they pump money into the local economy!

The recent killing of the narcotraficante Leyva (forgot his name) by a special unit shows if you have the professonalism and unit cohesion necessary, you will have the resolve to close in, engage and destroy the enemy. Even the bodyguards of Leyva were said to be well armed hence the long stand-off.

I used to goto mexico all the time from Camp Pendleton and party on revolution with my marine buddies. I would love some contacts for future security jobs in tijuana and mexicali. I was speaking with a friend who runs a biz in juarez about getting on board with him, but then I ended up in Iraq again on contract. I also was speaking with Steele quite a bit to get on one of their teams. I was just taking a little time home for christmas, but I definately need to get over into the mexico circut soon. I was taking spanish lessons alot last spring becuase I was very very close to inking a contract for some PSD. Any help with company's or networking will help me alot.

thank you

Hopefully in 2010 we will need to increase staff :)

Talk to guys working on the ground for Steele before you sign on with them. The type of detail that they run is not for everybody.

We are pushing training much more this year for local teams down here as well as for the executives themselves.

We will definitely post here when we are looking for resumes
