My Name is Roger Short and I am a licensed PI in CA with a CCW and PPO. I own and operate Clearcut Investigative Services in Brentwood, CA and I am a Fugitive Recovery Agent. I am retired LE (Oakland PD--16 years) and retired Air Force Reserve (Combination Active Duty-12 years and Reserve--9 years). I would like to expand my experiences and add EP to my resume. I have done a couple of EP gigs (lower level).

I don't have any formal training yet and I am not martial arts trained. I do however, have street smarts and can run fast (lol). I am looking forward to this forum.

:welcome: to you Roger! I'm sure that a lot of LEOs get started doing EP gigs while off duty, and eventually transition to that when they retire without ever taking a class, besides what their agency offers.
But to expand on what usabodyguard said, proper training is key to continued success in this field since some aspects of the job (and of private security in general, as someone with your creds knows) are very different from LE. So you should definitely look into that, especially since you're going to work for yourself and represent your company.
