Hi everyone, My name is Henry and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. But, orginally from N.Y.C. I'm currently a Nevada and Utah CCW holder and a CPO and working towards my CSSM and on a 40 Hr. E.P Essential Local Class. affilated by the IFPO based out Naples, Florida. I'm seeking different options and advise on how I can get involved into the E.P Industry private sector. I'm a 9 year Military Veteran that was in L.E and 6 years of private sector security experience. (Corrections, Assest/Loss Protection). E.P has always interest me but like everything in life is who you know in the industry wanted to gain knowledge and learn the skills needed for this profession. Living in the Entertaining Capital of the World. I'm willing and ready to network with others in the field. What more security solutions can I train on to get my foot in the door?

Hey, :welcome: to you navcop1! Good to have you on board.
I think you've ID'd the #1 thing you gotta work on: your network. Once you satisfy licensing, background, and training requirements, leads is what gets you jobs (not that training & learning ever stop, mind you, but you gotta be working to justify and afford further expense in those depts).

Personally, I'd try and get on a hotel security detail or a jewelry store gig in Vegas. The first may be hard to penetrate, but the second is what got me started in the industry. From guarding high-end stores, you move on to parties and events, transport to photoshoots or delivery to VIPs, and you meet agents working on protective details. Also the companies that contract for those accounts may end up putting you directly on EP assignments once they know you.

I otherwise know very little about the Vegas market and would be interested to know more. It's not that far from us in CA, so keep us informed of your progress, would you?
