Here I go again prefacing my investigative background!
I grew up in the bail bond business as a kid in Brooklyn. Two of my grand uncles were involved in the business/ Uncle Lou was the Man and uncle George was a criminal attorney. A collector/ agent/ assistant who worked for my uncles was a 6'5 375 pound Samoan who they also called BIG SONNY since no one could pronounce his real name, I at the time was Sonny Boy, lol. Until I was 10 or 11 I thought everyone was either a cop or criminal.
Anyway, Uncle Lou would always tell me and everyone else, you must respect the LE uniform and comply otherwise you get to see the judge and pay your bail bondsman.
Uncle Lou would also say that most decisions that effect the masses are decided in court. so if you want to see what the deal in your neighborhood, what laws, rules regulations are supported spend a few days at your local superior Court and see what the bench hands down.
SIMILARLY, so now we finally get to the point of this thread, lol
Want to observe some EP bodyguard activity?
Whenever there is going to be a political rally with high level officers, President, Vice, etc, there will be Secret Service in mass. Visit this venue and observe; observe what they focus on, how they move, who they approach.
Frequently the Governors of many states utilize uniformed State Troopers as security and personal bodyguards. Any public outing of a Governor is interesting to observe as well.
Superior Courts: Almost always, the Sheriff department and bailiffs are security at the courts; some have county police as well. Be alert to protected parties to cases, incarcerated parties being escorted; judges who have been threatened. These are all great opportunities to observe bout uniformed and plain close security personnel in action.
As always I welcome any comments, criticism, or questions. Feel free to IM or email me as your prefer.
Cordially, Sonny
